NFIB Backs Keller For Congress

The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation's largest small business association, today endorsed Fred Keller for Congress in Pennsylvania's 12th District special election. NFIB announced its endorsement with local small business leaders and elected officials during an event at which Keller outlined his plan to boost jobs in central and northeast Pennsylvania.

“Fred Keller consistently has been one of the strongest supporters of small business legislation in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,” said NFIB’s Pennsylvania State Director Gordon Denlinger. “Fred worked for 25 years in a family-owned business and has a deep understanding of the challenges small business owners face, such as taxes and regulations. We are confident he will continue to stand up for small business owners in the U.S. House. As the voice of Pennsylvania small businesses, we are proud to endorse Fred Keller.”

During the press conference, Keller highlighted legislative priorities he would support in Congress to promote jobs and economic growth, including: making the middle class tax cuts permanent, rolling back excessive regulations, investing in career and technical education, and adding transparency and competition to our health care system.

“I'm grateful for the support of NFIB and its members in Pennsylvania's 12th District," Keller said. "Small businesses and the workers they employ fuel Pennsylvania's economy. I'm committed to supporting policies like making middle-class tax cuts permanent, reducing unnecessary regulations, and investing in workforce development so that local companies can grow and create family-sustaining jobs for the people of central and northeast Pennsylvania.”

Keller began his career working in a factory at Conestoga Wood Specialities. He quickly rose to Plant Operations Manager, overseeing a $50 million annual budget and more than 250 employees. Keller also started his own small business managing properties and serving as a general contractor. As a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly, Keller was awarded the NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award for his 100 percent voting record during his four terms in office.

“Fred Keller’s strong background speaks for itself,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “With his experience working in a family-owned business and his legislative record on small business issues, we know that Fred will be a staunch supporter of small business in the U.S. House.”
